Walk Guide

Morning
~20 min Expect 1 poop
~7:00 AM

Good energy in the morning. Enjoys exploring and sniffing around the neighborhood. Calm and focused during this walk.

Late Afternoon
20-30 min Expect 1 poop
4-5 PM

His most active time! He's playful and energetic. May spot squirrels or cats - he will lunge at them. Watch for street food scraps too - he's quick to eat them.

Night
5-10 min Quick potty break
Before bed

Quick potty break before bed. Usually just needs to pee. Keep it short - he's tired.

Wildlife Cooper gets excited around squirrels and cats - he may lunge. Keep a firm grip on the leash near wildlife.
Street Snacks Cooper is quick to spot and grab food on the street. Try to keep him away from scraps if you can - he'll happily take anything edible!
Pre-Walk Energy Cooper gets very excited near the door when going for a walk. He may spin around - just let him spin it out, then call him to sit. He may fuss when you're putting on his collar, but he'll settle.
Flexibility The walk times are flexible! If you're running a bit late or early, that's totally fine. Just try to keep the morning and afternoon walks roughly in their time windows. If you're out longer, great — Cooper enjoys the extra time!

Social Preferences

Heads Up Cooper tends to want to hump (dominate) younger dogs and will need to be broken up. Recommendation: Minimize dog-to-dog contact when possible.

Care Notes

Temperament Gentle, playful, and enjoys attention. Good with other dogs and strangers. Happy to receive pets and affection!
Signaling to Go Out Cooper will come to you to get your attention when he needs to go pee or poop - especially in the afternoon when he's most active. Keep to the walk schedule and he'll be good!
Play Time Enjoys his rope and chew toy (nickname: gdragon). Generally sleeps during the day but has bursts of playful energy, especially in the afternoon.
Discipline "Bad dog" works as a form of scolding for unwanted behavior. Keep your tone firm but gentle.
Potty Training Cooper is pretty good at holding it in. But if his schedule gets thrown off, he gets nervous, or he ate something bad (like street food scraps), he may have accidents.
Barking Usually quiet, but may bark when home alone and hearing noises (like the garage door). Otherwise, he's a chill dude.
Cleaning Cooper self-cleans - no need to wipe him down unless he's very dirty. If needed, use the wipes or a towel in his drawer.
Harness Feel free to use the harness instead of his collar. Note: It may be tricky to put on since he doesn't stay still - try a treat as distraction!
